The Adam Walsh Act provides access to a fingerprint-based background check for all private school employees, student or substitute teachers, volunteers and contractors. This comprehensive check allows access to state and FBI criminal history databases. This background check is recommended for all those working with vulnerable populations including children. Results of the background check are returned to the school by the Illinois state Police.
The private school organization will need to contact the Illinois state Police to issue an Originating Requester Identification (ORI) Number if the organization does not already have one. An ORI number is required before applicants can be fingerprinted for a background check.
Please contact the Account Management Team at 773-685-5832 to learn how to obtain an ORI and set up an account. Once an account is established, Accurate Biometrics will provide a customized fingerprinting form for the school that the applicants will need to bring for fingerprinting.
Accurate Biometrics is a trusted live scan fingerprint provider. We offer fast convenient walk-in fingerprinting at over 40 locations in the Chicagoland area. Let us help you navigate the background check process. If you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com.
